Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality held a job fair in joint hands with its neighboring Sichuan Province on Saturday to promote employment and boost the recovery of local economy.

More than 300 enterprises from Chongqing and Sichuan have offered over 18,000 job opportunities covering all walk of lives including automobile making, bio-pharmaceutical and catering.

The job fair attracted over 50,000 job hunters to apply for their favored positions.

"There are more opportunities offered here than usual. I saw my ideal job position as soon as I arrived here. And the salary is decent," said a job hunter named Wu Tao.

As one of the major cities in the southwestern region, Chongqing has attracted talents from other cities to work here. This year, the number of influx talents has increased significantly, said a general manager of a local recruitment company named Qing You.

"According to this year's data, the influx of talents seeking jobs in Chongqing is growing sharply. It was about 10,000 last year and about 30,000 for this year. The increased part is mainly technical talents and high and medium ranking talents," Ms. Qing said.

Chongqing's human resources department will arrange more than 3,000 job fairs to provide over one million jobs this year. It will also cooperate with Sichuan's counterpart to hold job fairs in other parts of the municipality and province.
