The second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) scheduled for the end of this year will feature a new section themed on the advanced manufacturing chain, according to the expo's host China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) on Friday.

At the promotion event for the second CISCE, held on Friday afternoon by the CCPIT, it was announced that the expo is scheduled to take place Nov 26-30 this year in Beijing.

With the overarching theme of "Connecting the world for a shared future", the expo will feature a new section dedicated to the advanced manufacturing chain, complementing the existing five sections focused on clean energy, smart vehicles, digital technology, healthy living, and green agriculture.

Around 50 representatives of companies from China and abroad attended the promotion event in Beijing and signed new cooperation projects.

"Many exhibitions just showcase goods and services while the supply chain expo showcases the supply chain, the upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises and their products to consumers. Here at the expo, visitors can see how different links along the supply chain are closely connected. Secondly, the purpose of the supply chain expo is different. It is not only focusing on the transaction volume and the number of orders received by firms, but also paying more attention to whether there can be further communication and integration between the upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises after the expo," said Zhao Ping, dean of the Academy of the CCPIT.

"Our first show was so good that we will expand our show. We're in the meat processing business. And we were very busy. We had people coming to us from all around the world. We met many other people from other companies that were also exhibiting. It was a success both ways: we import and we export," said John Long, president of a participating company Jarvis Machinery Manufacturing (Beijing) Corporation.

Following the signing ceremony of participation, a banquet was hosted to facilitate additional communication among the representatives, fostering connections across different supply chains in anticipation of the upcoming second expo scheduled for this November.
