Enterprises in south China's Guangdong Province have taken multiple measures to expand recruitment of highly-skilled workers and professional talents to meet the growing requirements for high-quality development.
In Dongguan City, some enterprises have planned to recruit fewer ordinary workers than previous years, but their demand for highly-skilled employees continues to rise in pace with digitalized upgrading.
"Our demand for ordinary workers is stable. For engineers, we have 700 ones at present. Last year, we recruited over 200, but this year the number is expected to approach 300," said Dong Yalun, person-in-charge of recruitment of Dongguan Cowell Optic Electronics company.
Besides recruitment, some enterprises have also conducted trainings for their workers for technical upgrading.
"We need to convert some of our workers from physical laborers to technicians in different posts and skills. We also hope to upgrade our forefront producers to technicians with one or more specialties by training them," said Fan Xin, assistant president of the business school, or a training center, of Galanz, a home appliance giant.
In addition, the enterprises have also cooperated with vocational schools by training the students prior to their graduation.
"To meet enterprises' demand for talents, we will adjust our courses to different industries. The content of our courses are dynamic in pace with the market and industry," said Sun Zhijuan, director of the Teaching and Research Office of Laser Technology Application of the Shenzhen Institute of Technology.
