Multiple supply-demand matchmaking events were held at the ongoing fourth China International Consumer Products Expo on Sunday, setting up seamless platforms for exhibitors and buyers to strike transactions.

A total of 48 companies from 12 countries and regions participated in the matchmaking meetings, which were held in both online and offline forms.

The expo has set up dedicated areas for Ireland and the UK to showcase quality products from the two countries. Meanwhile, products from other countries were arranged by industrial sectors to facilitate business discussions and matchmaking.

The expo marks the first major international exhibition held in China this year.

Among the participating brands this year, over 80 of them are exhibiting for the first time, covering fields such as medical devices and electronic technologies.

"Exhibitors have actively participated in the exhibition. They have either invested and established factories in China, set up their flagship stores in Hainan, or set up their Asia-Pacific regional headquarters or China headquarters in Hainan. It shows how exhibitors turn into investors and how 'first visitors' turn into 'regular customers.' All of them have continuously provided high-quality goods and services to the Chinese consumer market,” said Xu Xingfeng, director of the Department of Market Operation and Consumption Promotion under Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

The fourth China International Consumer Products Expo opened on Saturday in Haikou, capital city of Hainan Province.

The six-day event hosts over 4,000 brands from 71 countries and regions, with the theme of "Share Open Opportunities, Co-create a Better Life."
