The cross-border e-commerce trade volume at the Alashankou port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region rose in the first four months of 2024.

From January to April this year, a total of 10.0674 million shipments of cross-border e-commerce packages, worth over 1.647 billion yuan (about 227.6 million U.S. dollars), have been sent out via the Alashankou port, increasing by 14.53 percent year on year.

As of Saturday, the cross-border e-commerce packages exported via the Alashankou port mainly come from domestic manufacturing bases such as Dongguan and Hangzhou, and commodities include toys and digital products.

These packages have been transported to 21 countries in the European Union, including Belgium and Germany, via Central Asian countries.

Alashankou, also known as the Alataw Pass, is a crucial hub connecting China with Central Asia and Europe, where food, automobiles, accessories, minerals, and other goods are transported.
