A high-speed railway line linking two major cities in eastern China's Zhejiang Province began a test run on Saturday.
The railway line connects Hangzhou, the provincial capital, and Wenzhou, a business hub in southeast Zhejiang.
Saturday's test run saw the first train starting from Hangzhou's Tongludong Railway Station on its way to the Wenzhou North Railway Station. The train was equipped with inspection equipment to check whether the track, roadbed, traction power supply and other equipment and facilities met the requirements of relevant standards.
The railway line is about 260 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. There are nine stations along the route.
Once the line is put into service, travel time between cities including Hangzhou, Jinhua and Wenzhou will be reduced to one hour.
