As cross-border e-commerce logged rebound in January and February, companies in Zhejiang Province, a foreign trade powerhouse in eastern China, are at full steam to complete overseas orders on time.
In the Jan-Feb period, exports via the cross-border e-commerce platforms in Zhejiang rose 73.2 percent year on year to 20.91 billion yuan (about 3.02 billion U.S. dollars), according to Hangzhou Customs.
Companies engaged in overseas business in Yiwu, known as the "World's Supermarket," are racing against time to complete their orders.
"We have been working overtime to complete our orders in the past three weeks, and strive to deliver the products by May," said Wang Haojun, a staff member with a pet supplies company.
In the warehouse of the company, more than 50 workers are responsible for the distribution and packaging of products. Over 500 boxes of pet supplies are shipped to overseas customers every day.
Su Di, head of the company, said they are increasing investment in developing new products, in order to seize the overseas market.
"Workers in three factories are busy making pet products for us, which are still not enough to complete the orders. Our sales last month rose above 35 percent compared with the same period last year," said Su.
Tong Guangfei, head of an international logistics company in Yiwu, said they are currently shipping ten containers every day.
"The latest data showed that the e-commerce logistics activities recorded a faster growth of freight transport services with Europe than with America," said Tong.
