The 2025 Global Developer Conference, currently underway in Shanghai, has highlighted China's growing prominence in the AI sector, with local companies and developers showcasing their latest innovations to global audiences.

Running from Friday to Sunday, the conference aims to provide a platform for developers worldwide to exchange ideas, collaborate, and drive AI development across industries, drawing over 100 developer communities to gather.

Among all exhibits, a football field featuring China-made robots has demonstrated impressive self-balancing, real-time decision-making, and rapid responses to emergency situations, all based on their cutting-edge strategy and control algorithms. In one match, a "player" was knocked down but quickly regained position, highlighting advanced analyzing and sensory abilities and precise physical control.

The robot football players, along with numerous other exhibits from Chinese developers, have underscored China's rise as an AI powerhouse. For example, the latest statistics show that Hailuo AI, a text-to-video generator developed by a Chinese company, has surpassed its biggest competitor, Sora by the U.S.-based OpenAI, in terms of monthly visits, thanks to its rapid upgrades. Similarly, Deepseek, another highly successful AI that has recently garnered world attention, also solidifies China's compatibility in the global AI race.

This year's conference also spotlighted the growing influence of young researchers in China's AI landscape. Many in their 20s are now the driving force behind the industry, marking the importance of innovation and creativity, and also the vitality of China's AI development.
