A batch of commodities exported by e-commerce enterprises in south China's Hainan Province was declared on Thursday and went through customs at Hainan Free Trade Port via the "9710" mode, or cross-border e-commerce B2B mode, the first time such a new declaration mode is ever used.

According to the Haikou Customs, a batch of garments and ornaments worth 567,000 yuan (about 80,715 U.S. dollars) and weighing 3.16 tons were successfully cleared at the Haikou Meilan Airport customs. These commodities will be sent to France.

This mode is adopted to meet the demand of cross-border e-commerce enterprises for exporting goods in batches and can save logistics costs. Meanwhile, it can further broaden export business channels of enterprises at the free trade port.

"It ('9710' mode) saves a lot of time compared with the general customs declaration mode. The whole process of declaration can be finished within an hour or so, greatly increasing the time efficiency by more than 80 percent," said Lin Yi, general manager of Yishang International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd.

"The implementation of the '9710' cross-border e-commerce export B2B mode has attracted more and more international goods to gather in Haikou for transfer. Together with the free trade port's favorable policies, it has effectively promoted the further development and expansion of Hainan's international freight market," said Tao Ming, cross-border e-commerce supervisor of International Security Center under the Haikou Meilan International Airport's Cargo Department.

The Meilan Airport has so far completed 81,500 items of cross-border e-commerce goods declaration, inspection and clearance this year, with a cargo value of 8.825 million yuan (about 1.26 million U.S. dollars). The main export destinations included Singapore, Indonesia, France, and Australia.
