Record heatwaves that scorch many parts of the world are heating up sales of sunshade products from China.

In east China's Zhejiang Province, workers at a leisure product factory are working around the clock to fill overseas orders for shade awnings.

The factory's sales manager says the extreme heat in Europe and North America has boosted demand for their products.

"European and North American clients started to place additional orders since the end of June. Our sales are expected to reach 360 million U.S. dollars this year," said Zhu Lijuan, the sales manger.

There is also surging demand for key accessories, like small motors that roll and unroll the shades automatically.

One shade motor producer said all their stock had been sold out, forcing them to work overtime to meet demand.

"We must produce nearly 3,000 units a day to meet the demand, which keeps us quite busy these days. Our employees have to work overtime at least four days per week,"said Chen Jianzhong, assistant to the general manager at an electromechanical equipment factory in Zhejiang.

The intense heatwaves sweeping across the world have shown no signs of abating after record high temperatures were reported in Asia, Europe and North America.

Many countries have issued health warnings, urging people to drink water and shelter from the sun.
