LOS ANGELES, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Sony Pictures' animated comedy film "The Garfield Movie" topped the North American box office with an estimated three-day cume of 14 million U.S. dollars on its second weekend of release, data from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.

The film has grossed 51.5 million dollars in its first 10 days of release in North America and more than 152 million dollars globally through Sunday.

Based on the characters from the popular comic strips, the film stars Chris Pratt as the voice of the titular fat lazy orange tabby.

Paramount Pictures' fantasy comedy film "IF" came in second with 10.8 million dollars on its third weekend, pushing its North American total to 80.4 million dollars.

Rounding out the Top three, Warner Bros. Pictures' action film "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" dropped to third place on its second weekend with 10.75 million dollars for a North American cume of 49.7 million dollars.
