LOS ANGELES, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Amazon MGM Studios' action thriller film "A Working Man" dominated the North American box office with an estimated three-day cume of 15.2 million U.S. dollars on its opening weekend, figures from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.
Directed by David Ayer and based on Chuck Dixon's 2014 novel Levon's Trade, the film stars Jason Statham as a former Royal Marine Commando turned construction worker.
When his employer's daughter is taken by human traffickers, his rescue mission exposes a vast corruption network.
The film has earned an approval rating of 52 percent based on 90 reviews to date on the review-aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, and a "B" on an "A+" to "F" scale from audiences polled by the market research firm CinemaScore.
Disney's musical fantasy film "Snow White" came in second on its second weekend with 14.2 million dollars, pushing its North American total to 66.8 million dollars through Sunday.
Another newcomer, Fathom's historical drama "The Chosen: Last Supper (Season 5) Part 1", rounded out the top three with 11.5 million dollars on its opening weekend.
