Qingdao Municipal Marine Development Bureau will aim for transformations, place emphasis on the construction of a modern marine industrial system and the leading role of sci-tech innovation in the marine sector, and strive to secure an increase of around 6.5% in gross ocean product (GOP), according to its recently unveiled work priorities for 2025.
With focus on “going upscale, application of intelligent technology, environmental protection, and cluster-based development”, Qingdao in 2025 will plan to advance the construction of 170 key marine projects with a total investment of RMB24 bln, strive to see 70 new projects begin construction, 40 projects completed, and 20 projects put into operation, and the fulfillment of more than RMB40 bln in investment. Furthermore, great efforts will be made to seek cooperation opportunities in the upper and lower streams of leading enterprises, attract the arrival of core supporting enterprises and push ahead with over 30 key projects for investment attraction. To respond to the national call for transformation, Qingdao will take a holistic and pragmatic approach to promoting marine development. To accelerate legislation on marine economy, Qingdao has formulated rules and regulations for promoting marine economy to facilitate rule of law in developing the marine sector. Qingdao will refine the 15 policies on supporting high-quality development of marine economy and work harder to pursue integrated innovation of policies, so as to enable a combination of policies to take effect in a targeted manner. With focus on the “4+4+2” modern marine industrial system, Qingdao will draw up the innovative “life tree” for the marine industry chain, and come up with the roadmap for marine technological equipment and industrial development.
