Beyond classic landmarks of cultural tourism, a flurry of new projects are emerging. This year, Qingdao will push ahead with 70 key projects, including Boonie Bears Film and TV Industry Demonstration Park. Among them, 11 projects such as the SCODA “Eternal Love for Silk Road” performance show project, have begun construction, and 13 projects, including Oriental Garden of Eden, have been put into operation.

The Oriental Garden of Eden is poised to open for business this summer, which will fill in the void of ecological cultural tourism in Qingdao. The park consists of four themed halls, a section for water amusement, a section for unpowered recreation, the lake scenery show at nighttime as well as a dozen of large interactive recreation facilities, and will showcase water experiments, water circulation, water ecology, water conservation, aquatic lives and climatic simulation. The Zhucha Island Comprehensive Development Project will help Qingdao to make solid breakthroughs in developing sea island tourism. Vocational villages, ecological restoration projects and other operations on Zhucha Island will provide tourists with new options of island tourism. The “Eternal Love for Silk Road” performance show project will build Qingdao’s first large performance park in an endeavor to become a new platform for promoting cultural and tourism exchanges among SCO member states and a new tourism landmark in northern China.

In addition, the ski wheel project in Qingdao Polar Ocean Park and the second phase of Mingyue Shanhaijian Resort Area will be completed and open.
