2China's environmental protection industry has recorded annual revenues exceeding 2.2 trillion yuan (over 300 billion U.S. dollars) for three consecutive years, according to a report released by the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry.

The report stated that the hazard-free treatment rates for air pollutants, sewage, and domestic waste in the country have continued to rise.
The country's environmental protection industry covers key areas such as air, water, solid waste, soil, environmental monitoring, ecological restoration, and pollution and carbon emissions reduction.

Private enterprises account for over 90 percent of all industry entities, and their technical capabilities have significantly improved, the report said.

In the field of air pollution prevention and control, more than 95 percent of the country's coal-fired power units have achieved ultra-low emissions.

Efforts to reduce pollution and carbon emissions in industrial sectors such as steel, cement, and non-ferrous metals are being intensified.
This year, more than 80 percent of China's steel production capacity will complete the ultra-low emission transformation, with the transformation rate in the non-ferrous metals, glass and ceramic industries exceeding 50 percent.

China's environmental protection industry is becoming greener and more digitalized, with the construction of low-carbon sewage treatment plants and waste power plants accelerating.

Meanwhile, environmental monitoring technologies are becoming more automated, intelligent, data-driven, and networked.
