The 23rd China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference (CIEPEC) and the Conference on Innovation-Driven Development of Environmental Protection Industry recently took place in Beijing. As a guest city of honor, Qingdao underscored the theme “Building a Beautiful and Green Qingdao in the Future—Concerted Efforts to Foster a Role Model for Green and Low-carbon High-quality Development” to hold exhibitions and the Qingdao-themed event, where its achievements in pursuing ecological progress were showcased comprehensively.
Among the achievements are the world’s first metro train constructed using carbon fiber material, the world’s first hydrogen-powered rail-mounted gantry crane, and the first dry-type slag processing system independently developed by China. 24 Qingdao-based industry-leading enterprises attended the event and exhibited their new technologies, products and equipment, highlighting Qingdao’s strengths in pursuing green and low-carbon high-quality development.
In the Qingdao-themed event, the presentation and investment attraction efforts of the China-SCO Environmental Protection Innovation Base (Shandong) came under the spotlight. Nine projects, including the SCO green and low-carbon building material service project and the SCO Center for the Application of Green and Low-carbon Technological Achievements, were collectively signed in the event, injecting strong impetus to the building of the innovation base.
