A general cargo ship carrying construction machinery, equipment and steel products recently departed from Qingdao Port in East China's Shandong province for Mumbai, India, signifying the official launch of Qingdao Port's general cargo route to India.

Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), has been tapping into the resource advantages of shipping companies and its strategic location at the intersection of coastal and inland areas to deepen collaboration among cargo owners, ports and shipping companies. It has thoroughly explored potential logistics corridors and focused on building premium service brands. All these efforts paved the way for the new route.

Amidst a difficult international environment, Dagang branch of Qingdao Port has cooperated with relevant parties to explore the potential of hinterland markets, make use of cargo resources, and develop premium route resources.

The newly launched route is Qingdao Port's first general cargo route to the India-Pakistan region, marking a pivotal step forward for the port in optimizing its shipping route network and enhancing its service system. It is poised to further increase the influence and competitiveness of Qingdao Port's general cargo business, enabling the port to contribute more to Belt and Road cooperation and the construction of international logistics corridors.

Going forward, Qingdao Port will continue to leverage its advantageous location and status as a hub, provide customers with more efficient, professional and stable services, and build a smoother, more open, and more diverse international logistics landscape. Its overall aim is to contribute to the three development goals of SPG.
