According to the 2025 Dragon Boat Travel Trend Forecast by Tuniu, with a three-day holiday, more tourists are opting for local or nearby travel options. Qingdao is listed among the top 10 destinations for self-driving tours and also ranks in the top 10 domestic long-distance travel destinations.

Among the top destinations for self-driving tours, cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing are highly popular in bookings. There is a strong demand for cross-region travel within areas like the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

This year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday coincides with Children's Day, leading to a significant increase in demand for parent-child trips. Young families are the main contributors to tourism consumption during the festival. Nearly 40 percent of travelers during the Dragon Boat Festival period are on parent-child trips. Trips lasting two or three days are the most popular choice for these families, with proportions of 44 percent and 37 percent, respectively.

In terms of travel methods, more parent-child families are choosing self-driving trips, making up 54 percent of the trips in the parent-child travel category. Theme park-related "hotel + ticket" self-driving tour packages at places like Shanghai Disneyland Resort and Beijing Universal Resort, as well as bookings for folk customs experiences, cultural and historical museums, nature exploration, and other themed tourism products, are particularly popular.
