On May 22, China’s largest bonded warehouse with a single LNG storage tank was approved for construction in Qingdao Dongjiakou Economic Zone. The LNG reception station in the PetroChina Qingdao Branch has become China’s first dual-berth bonded LNG storage and transportation terminal.

With the help of the LNG bonded warehouse, which serves as an “international transfer station” for energy, enterprises have the discretion to choose transit trade, home market sales or other means to pursue the strategy of international trade featuring “purchasing across the globe, and selling in a flexible way. The Qingdao-based LNG bonded warehouse, which boasts a capacity of 270,000 cubic meters, can house a variety of innovative projects such as bonded transit of LNG, fuel filling, and air testing and refrigeration technology services for LNG, and leads the industry in operational flexibility and types of functions, an important foundational advantage, thus drawing the arrival of more international ships.
