A radish carving competition, a highlight of the 2026 Qingdao Turnip, Yuanxiao, and Tangqiu Fair, took place at Dabaodao tourism and leisure block on Feb 25. The event drew over 30 skilled artisans from the local culinary industry to compete in the intricate traditional craft of radish carving.

Using knives as their tools and vibrant produce as their medium, the artisans transformed everyday fruits and vegetables into stunning sculptures. From lifelike floral designs to mythical creatures, the works demonstrated exceptional precision and artistry, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the region.
