The Qingdao base of the national advanced computing industry innovation center and the Sugon base were inaugurated in Laoshan district, Qingdao, on April 22.

The center is a State-level industrial innovation platform approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, aiming to break through core technologies in advanced computing and cultivate internationally competitive industrial clusters.

The Qingdao base, built with the participation of supercomputer manufacturer Sugon, will leverage regional industrial strengths to create an advanced computing innovation platform integrating R&D, technology transfer, and industrial incubation. It will connect the full industrial chain — from research and manufacturing to adaptation and application — aligning domestic computing power with local industry needs. The base will also collaborate with universities to train talent, injecting powerful "computing power momentum" into the digital economy of Qingdao and Shandong.

At the event, the Haiguang (Qingdao) Industry Ecosystem Innovation & Adaptation Center was launched, along with strategic partnerships to build an independent and controllable computing foundation in Shandong. As a core ecosystem hub, the Haiguang center will provide full-stack adaptation services (migration, testing, certification) for key sectors such as government, finance, and manufacturing, bridging domestic chips, servers, operating systems, and middleware.
