This May Day holiday, Qingdao is rolling out cultural, tourism, and commercial events citywide, blending coastal appeal, historic charm, rural attractions, and modern trends. The aim is to create an engaging festival season that boosts consumption and provides memorable experiences.

This spring, visitor numbers rise at the historic Zhongshan Road and Dabaodao tourism and leisure block as temperatures climb, with a cross-sector feast blending culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions, ready to bring fresh excitement for the May Day holiday.

During the holiday, Dabaodao will host its first dessert festival, expected to unite 30 top-quality vendors, featuring trendy desserts, traditional Chinese pastries, specialty ice products, and creative tea drinks.

Another shining example, the Mingyue Shanhaijian scenic area upgrades to a full-day immersive park with an AI experience hall, dome cinema, and camping site. The Hongdao Clam Festival returns for its 21st year, inviting visitors to dig clams, camp, and enjoy folk markets. Laoshan Mountain combines short historical plays, intangible cultural heritage bazaars, and pop-up concerts at Shilaoren Beach.

For nature lovers, the Qingdao World Expo Garden features over 10,000 square meters of blooming phlox, while Pingdu's peony garden presents 80,000 peonies in rare varieties. From coastal leisure to cultural exploration, Qingdao promises a spring holiday full of discovery and joy.
