Qingdao Port reinforces itself as northern China's leading trade hub 2026/6/7 source: Print

In the first four months of this year, Qingdao Port in Shandong handled 251.17 million metric tons of cargo, a year-on-year increase of 3.9 percent, and 11.53 million TEUs of containers, up 8.1 percent from the same period last year.

Since the beginning of this year, the port has expanded its international shipping network by adding 13 new foreign-trade routes covering key economic regions such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Americas. With nearly 240 foreign trade routes in total, Qingdao Port now has the largest route network among ports in northern China.

Currently, the port is connected to more than 700 ports in over 180 countries and regions, solidifying its position as a leading global maritime hub.
