The French Pinette Pei Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Qingdao Skyco Aviation Co Ltd, marking the first foreign-invested project in Qingdao's low-altitude economy sector in recent years. This project aims to strengthen the city's industry value chain and boost its international competitiveness.
Pinette Pei Group has a long history in advanced material forming, testing, and assembly equipment. The two parties will collaborate on low-altitude new materials R&D and high-end equipment manufacturing, establishing a composite materials R&D center, a high-end manufacturing equipment base, and a global supply chain service system.
Located in Qingdao's Jimo district, the project will use the Jimo Comprehensive Bonded Zone to introduce French technologies and standards, promoting bonded R&D and manufacturing.
This year, Jimo has steadily advanced its low-altitude economy, successfully bringing in major projects such as Skyco Aviation. In the first four months of this year, Jimo airport recorded 2,125 flights, a 32.6 percent year-on-year increase, and is on track to exceed 10,000 flights for the full year.
