Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport will resume direct flights to Taichung, Taiwan, on July 23, reconnecting the Shandong Peninsula with central Taiwan after a multi-year suspension.

The route, operated by Shandong Airlines with flight number SC4633/SC4634, will run once a week on Thursdays.

Ticket bookings are now open via Shandong Airlines' official website, app, WeChat mini-program, and major online travel platforms.

Qingdao airport currently operates flights to Hong Kong, Macao, and Taipei, with seven daily flights serving these destinations.

In the first half of 2026, passenger throughput on the Hong Kong route increased by 14 percent year-on-year, while the Taipei route maintained a load factor of 88 percent.

The resumed Taichung service will complement the existing four weekly flights to Taipei, providing more travel options for passengers.

According to current regulations, mainland residents traveling to Taiwan must obtain the mainland travel permits for Taiwan residents and a valid endorsement before departure.

This summer, travelers can reach Taichung from Qingdao in just 2.5 hours, opening up a journey blending natural beauty, cultural heritage, and culinary delights.
