Qingdao is inviting visitors to take to the sea this November, offering free sightseeing cruises for children and teachers as migratory gulls return to the city's coastline.
Qingdao Tourism Group announced that children aged 15 and under can enjoy free cruises on participating routes from Nov 1 to 30 when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
The offer covers departures from the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, Qingdao Ferry Terminal, Zhanqiao Pier, Hongdao Dongdayang Pier, and Jimiya Pier, with some route restrictions.
Teachers are also eligible for free cruises during the same period upon presentation of valid identification and teaching credentials. The offer applies to selected services departing from the Olympic Sailing Center, Qingdao Ferry Terminal, and Jimiya Pier.
Discounted packages are available through Douyin livestreams, with tickets priced at 39.9 yuan ($5.60) for one adult and one child, and 69.9 yuan for two adults and two children. Advance sales run until Nov 9, with tickets valid throughout November.
With flocks of gulls gathering along the waterfront, the cruises offer visitors a chance to enjoy Qingdao's skyline, watch seabirds in flight, and take in autumn sunsets from the water.
Visitors are advised to check sailing schedules and eligibility requirements before departure.
