THIRTY-SIX Shenzhen brands have been included on the 2024 list of China’s top 500 valuable brands, as announced during the eighth Shenzhen Brand Week, which opened Thursday at the Shenzhen Media Group Building, on the eve of China Brand Day.

Shenzhen contributed over half of the brands from Guangdong on the list, which totaled 70. The Brand Finance China 500 Report was jointly issued by London-based Brand Finance, the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy firm, and the Federation of Shenzhen Industries, which ranks the country’s 500 most valuable and strongest brands.

Of the 36 recognized Shenzhen brands, 15 were honored as Well-known Shenzhen (Bay Area) Brands and 10 as Internationally Renowned Brands. Notably, China Ping An, WeChat, and Huawei were ranked 8th, 10th, and 12th, respectively, in the report.

A total of 118 brands from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area made the list, marking it as a leader among the world’s four major bay areas in terms of the number of most valuable brands.

Shenzhen Brand Week, which runs until Wednesday, features local events celebrating China Brand Day. Established in 2017, China Brand Day is held annually May 10.

Also on Thursday, six Shenzhen brands were recognized as Internationally Renowned Brands by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Center for South-South Industrial Cooperation (China) and Shenzhen Top Brand Evaluation Committee. These included Cleer, a high-performance audio brand, Ledman, a premier LED display manufacturer, Streamax, an AI-powered solutions provider for commercial vehicles, and YKK Zipper Shenzhen.
