A SEMICONDUCTOR industry expo for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District from tomorrow to Friday, as announced at a news conference by the city government yesterday.
This event will showcase six major professional exhibition areas focusing on wafer manufacturing, compound semiconductors, and automotive semiconductors. With over 20 forums, the expo will bring together over 200 industry experts from around the world to gain a precise understanding of the industry’s development trajectory.
Notable exhibitors will include industry giants such as Lam Research and KLA from the United States, TEL from Japan, ZEISS and MERCK from Germany, as well as local players like NAURA, AMEC, Piotech, and SKYVERSE.
Zhu Yun, deputy director of the city’s development and reform commission, said the event aims to leverage the vast application market and major industry projects in the GBA and foster deep integration of domestic and international semiconductor industry chains and supply chains.
The expo will also feature strategic seminars, high-level forums, and technology discussions to set the industry’s benchmarks. It will facilitate seamless connections between supply and demand, introduce innovative products, and offer project investment and financing services, as stated by Zhu at the news conference.
Shenzhen was home to over 650 integrated circuit companies by the end of 2023, contributing to an industry scale exceeding 200 billion yuan (US$28.25 billion), Zhu noted.
The Shenzhen Semiconductor and Integrated Circuit Alliance, the expo organizer which was established in 2023 and led by the Shenzhen Major Industrial Investment Group Co. Ltd., is committed to creating a high-quality platform for the expo.
Over 400 well-known domestic and international enterprises have confirmed their participation in the expo, said Qiu Wen, general manager of the Shenzhen Major Industrial Investment Group Co. Ltd.
