THE 2nd edition of the PICK ME UP International Career and Internship Fair took place at Shenzhen University Town in Nanshan District on Sunday, providing international students from universities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) a total of 700 internship and employment positions.
The fair drew over 80 companies from industries including education, biopharmacy, finance, artificial intelligence, and electronic technologies.
Seedst International Co. Ltd., a local electronic components firm, sought candidates for international sales and procurement posts. It also offered part-time and full-time internships.
“The fair serves as an excellent platform for hiring interns who are seeking part-time and full-time opportunities,” Priyasha Sharma, business development and operations manager at Seedst, said during an interview.
Sharma, who graduated from Shenzhen University, thought the fair addressed the needs of both international students and enterprises looking to expand overseas.
“When I was studying at Shenzhen University, international students often had to search for jobs through websites or friends,” Sharma explained. “The job fair provides a valuable platform for face-to-face interviews between applicants and potential employers.”
Beatbot, a swimming pool robotic cleaner brand, sought a copywriter to develop English brand messaging for international audiences, refine the company profile, and produce English marketing content for its products. The company said it plans to recruit new talent in technology, marketing, and e-commerce for further expansion in the global market.
The 1st edition of the fair was held in April this year, providing 450 full-time job and internship vacancies for international students.
