QINGDAO -- Scenic areas in Qingdao saw surging visitor flows during this year's week-long Spring Festival holiday that started on January 21.

Qingdao rolled out a "See Qingdao from the Sea" route during the Spring Festival holiday. Tourists boarded the sightseeing ship to enjoy famous scenic spots such as the May 4th Square and Xiaoyu Mountain from the sea and have a panoramic view of the city.

The city's urban attractions such as the municipal aquarium also launched a variety of activities. The newly introduced Beluga whale performance and a booth for Chinese calligraphy writing interacted with visitors, extended knowledge while entertaining. Many parents brought their children to the aquarium to gain knowledge of the Chinese New Year and marine culture.
