A British vlogger shared his adventure to the Harbin Ice and Snow World in Harbin City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on the Internet and described his trip as "amazing".
Covering over 810,000 square meters, Harbin Ice and Snow World was recently recognized by the Guinness World Records as the "largest ice and snow-themed amusement park" in the world.
The landmark theme park has also gone viral on China's Internet, making Harbin, the "Ice City", one of the hottest tourism destinations in China this winter.
Lee Barrett is a British vlogger who has been living in China for 17 years. For the first time, he visited this snowy wonderland and was deeply impressed by these fairy-tale ice sculptures lit up at night with colorful lights.
"It's absolutely amazing, really. I mean, I've been coming here for the last three days in the daytime. I just don't know how they can do such stuff, because this is just something on another level, man. It's absolutely mad. In fact, I'm so excited. I don't feel cold anymore. It's absolutely huge. I honestly don't know how they build such structures out of snow and ice. That's mental," said Barrett.
He said that although the temperature in the scenic spot was very low, he was too excited to feel cold.
"Everything's all wired with LED lighting and everything, man. I've got to say this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this on this scale. It's probably about minus 20 something. Because I'm excited to be here, I don't feel cold, but I am super, super impressed the way all these big ice blocks have all been built into such a structure. It's like literally they've built a city out of ice," he said.
Barrett said he has seen the land many times on internet, but he still shocked by the splendid view when he visited the ice world in person.
"Well, I've seen this a number of times on videos but I'm finally here. and it's pretty exciting, really. It's even better than what you think. You've got to come here, man. It's amazing really. It really is. And I'll keep saying that, but I'm just gobsmacked by the amount of effort they must put into this," he said.
