A demonstration zone in Ningbo City, in east China's Zhejiang Province, designed to boost economic and trade ties with Central and Eastern European countries, reported 8.86 billion yuan (about 1.23 billion U.S. dollars) in imports and exports between January and February, a year-on-year increase of 12.5 percent, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs.
Customs data show that since the demonstration zone was launched in 2018, its total imports and exports have reached 218.33 billion yuan (about 30.3 billion U.S. dollars), with an average annual growth rate of 18.3 percent.
The China-CEEC Business Cooperation Demonstration Zone is China's only economic and trade cooperation demonstration zone dedicated
to promoting ties with Central and Eastern European nations.
Another effort to promote cooperation between China and countries in Central and Eastern Europe is the hosting of the upcoming China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo (China-CEEC Expo) in Ningbo.
