The Qatar ISND5-2 project recently began construction in the Qingdao International High-end Equipment Manufacturing Base of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd., the contractor. It marks the most complicated general contract project of international offshore oil and gas field with the most diverse business categories, ever contracted by a Chinese company.

Funded by Qatar Energy Company, the ISND5-2 project consists of designs, purchases, construction, transportation, installation and debugging related to three wellhead platforms each weighing about 1,300 tons, nine subsea pipelines, five umbilical cables and four underwater skid blocks as well as renovation of existing platforms. “With a construction period of 43 months, the project involves a contract amount of 2.216 billion Qatar Rial. The general contract project for international offshore oil and gas chalks up new records for the number of business categories and the complexity.” said Ju Wenjie, senior project manager of the Qatar ISND5-2 project.
