QINGDAO -- A Pakistani student shared how her bond with China keeps growing stronger while taking an in-depth tour of Qingdao City of east China's Shandong Province accompanied by a local guide.
Hamna is a Pakistani student at Ocean University of China in Qingdao. Through the online community, she met Chu Peng, a local young man who volunteered as a guide to take her tour around the city.
Despite studying in Qingdao for over a year, but this was the first time for Hamna to have an in-depth tour in the city, which boasts one of the best sandy beaches in China.
Chu Peng's accompany helped Hamna gain a deeper understanding of China's history, culture and natural beauty, which is just the reason why Hamna travelled thousands of miles to study in China.
"I was really impressed by the Chinese culture actually, because once I learned that China has a very rich culture, so I just wanted to visit China once at least in my life," Hamna said.
Chu took her to visit a series of different attractions and shared some Qingdao specialties with her, such as oldenlandia water.
"This is the water that I drink from young age. It's only produced from Laoshan," he said.
Along the way, Hamna kept recording the journey with her camera. She also had a video chat with her families to share the beautiful scenery and interesting moments about this trip.
"People in Pakistan are really positive about China, like they really want to come to China and they really want to visit China. Even many kids in my country they will always say 'Nihao'," Hamna said.
Currently, foreign nationals from 54 countries are eligible for the 72/144-hour transit visa-free policies that are effective at 38 ports in 18 provincial-level regions across China.
The policies have attracted a growing number of foreigners who are increasingly captivated by the country's rich scenery and vibrant culture.
