QINGDAO -- The stylish winter jazz town event is held in Taipingjiao, Qingdao from November 29 to December 25. On weekends, the three themed courtyards in Taipingjiao see a great transformation. The courtyard themed on falling snow in C-UP Song Family Mansion on No. 10, Taipingjiao First Road appears to be a fairy tale world. As a core music venue, THE SABLON “jazz-themed courtyard” in the former site of Belgium’s Consulate on No. 21, Taipingjiao First Road sees every evening different styles of exhilarating performances. In the “lucky courtyard” on No. 18, Taipingjiao First Road, there are orderly arranged stalls in the market displaying a dazzling array of items including handcrafts, special food, and cultural and creative products. In the first week after the market opened, tens of thousands of tourists were drawn to Taipingjiao and Badaguan among other scenic spots nearby. This year, tourists who come to the “winter jazz town”, one of the most sought-after tourist attraction, can enjoy the setting sun, coastline and saffron yellow sea.
In winter, fairs in rural areas of Qingdao are filled up with festive atmosphere in advance. Such markets as Tuandao and No. 15 Street in the urban area of Qingdao are bustling with people. Authentic food with Qingdao’s characteristics can be found in rural fairs in Licun, Boli and Wangezhuang.
Because Qingdao Metro ramifies all over the city, fairs in rural areas, which provide remarkable convenience, have long become trendy spots online. In the company of their grandparents, children go to fairs to see first-hand intangible Chinese cultural heritage. Many young people have found impressively stylish ornaments among used items for sale in country fairs.
