The 14th Bird's Nest Happy Ice and Snow Season was unveiled at the National Stadium in Beijing on Saturday, which will run until mid-February.
During the Spring Festival Holiday, the venue will remain open until 21:00 to welcome more visitors who want to enjoy the snow.
This year's Ice and Snow Season features over 10 amusement activities including classic attractions such as the "Snow Circle Plaza", which spans 2,200 square meters. To enhance visitors' experience, organizers have introduced the "one-for-all pass" that allows visitors access to all facilities with a single purchase.
"The Bird's Nest is the venue for the Olympic Games, and the ice and snow carnival here really attracts me. I can skate and I'm learning how to ski," said Liu Ruyang, a young tourist.
"We've not only provided an in-person Ice and Snow Season for visitors, but also launched a panoramic virtual replica of the Bird's Nest for online tourists to enjoy," said Wang Yunpeng, business director of the Bird's Nest Culture and Creative Center.
The stadium's Happy Ice and Snow Season, a popular fitness event for all, has attracted more than 2.4 million tourists over its previous 13 editions. Firstly held in 2009, the event is instrumental in supporting the sustainable development of Olympic venues and promoting the popularization of ice and snow sports.
