QINGDAO - Fairs in Qingdao are bustling with activity as the Spring Festival draws closer, showcasing a diverse range of goods and cultural experiences that cater to the festive needs of shoppers.
The Spring Festival falls on Jan 29 this year. It marks the start of the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year and is the country's grandest traditional festival when people across the country return to their hometowns for celebrations and family reunion.
In the Qingdao West Coast New Area of east China's Shandong Province, the Poli Fair, which has a history of nearly 300 years, is offering dazzling options to local residents and tourists, which include not only traditional Spring Festival goods, but also toys, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seasonal seafood, and snacks.
The cooks are working, the diners are having meal, and the unique festive goods and intangible cultural treasures on display in the fairs, including traditional performances, left numerous shoppers in awe.
"The fair is so amazing and vibrant. There are so many kinds of products. You can buy anything you want here," said Xiang Jiao, a tourist.
