As spring arrives, flower fans can hop aboard "The Train to Spring" for a breathtaking view of peach and apricot blossoms near the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall in Beijing, capital of China.
The train transports tourists to the Great Wall, but beyond that, it takes tourists to spring sceneries that cannot be seen elsewhere.
"It has a unique charm. The train winds through a sea of flowers. The curve of the railway is particularly beautiful. It is an elegant S-shaped curve. The colors include pink and white, with green mountains in the backdrop. [I can also see] the Great Wall. The colors are exceptionally beautiful," said Wu Yueqiu, a tourist.
"The scenery along the way is very beautiful. I kept looking for its wonderful spots with my cellphone. There are many highlights," said Xuan Jing, another tourist.
The train service, which started operation in 2008, was not a scenic train in the beginning, but rather a commuter train connecting suburban Beijing and neighboring Hebei Province.
In 2015, a photo of the train traversing a breathtaking sea of flowers became an instant Internet sensation. Since then, countless tourists have flocked in, and it has become one of the best ways to celebrate the arrival of full spring ever since.
"During this year's flower-viewing period, we expect to handle 96,000 passenger trips, an increase of 5,000 compared to the same period of last year," said Hua Hongsheng, a staff member at Beijing North Railway Station.
