The ongoing 140th China Import and Export Fair, widely known as the Canton Fair, has upgraded its supporting service framework, providing buyers and exhibitors with specialized, one-stop solutions for cross-border banking, customs clearance, and supply chain logistics.
Abidi, an Algerian buyer who primarily engages in manufacturing sectors such as canned food processing and woven bag production, is attending the Canton Fair for the first time. After spending several days touring the machinery processing exhibition area, he has already selected the production equipment he wants and is now urgently seeking financial services to open an account for transactions.
He visited the financial and insurance zone within the trade support area, choosing a Chinese provider for cross-border payments. The entire process, from submitting documents and completing facial recognition to full verification, took less than five minutes.
"Before I can't believe that I can open a bank account in just five minutes. It's very amazing. I think it was a good beginning and in future it will open for me a lot of doors to do more business here," he said.
The trade service exhibition area at this year's Canton Fair covers a total space of more than 7,000 square meters and has been completely upgraded to include ten specialized service zones, such as cross-border logistics and customs clearance, and international finance and insurance.
In the past, many foreign trade enterprises had to independently coordinate various resources such as logistics and settlement after securing orders at trade fairs, resulting in multiple steps and high costs.
The upgraded trade service exhibition area, however, brings together service resources from across the foreign trade supply chain to facilitate precise matching between supply and demand.
While securing orders at the fair, enterprises can simultaneously resolve practical challenges such as logistics and overseas compliance. After selecting products, buyers can also quickly open accounts and arrange logistics, completing their cross-border trade procurement through a one-stop service.
Serving as a barometer of China's foreign trade, this year's fair, marking its 70th anniversary, features innovation, intelligence, greater specialization and higher quality. It is one of the world's few one-stop trade platforms offering a complete range of products with convenience and efficiency, while bringing together the latest products and technologies.
