QINGDAO -- On the evening of August 6, China's own version of Germany's iconic Oktoberfest, the 33rd Qingdao International Beer Festival closed at the Golden Beach Beer City in Qingdao where tourists from home and abroad are reveling in the captivating taste of beer as they also enjoy a variety of recreational activities.
The Qingdao International Beer Festival, hailed as the largest such event in Asia, has unfolded since mid July in the coastal city of Qingdao.
Passionate music performances, fierce sports competitions and a brilliant light show - all these activities are adding excitement to this year's beer carnival.
The Golden Beach Beer Town, the main venue for this year's event, houses pavilions for nine beer brands, most from overseas. Brewing companies from Denmark, Germany, Canada and other countries have brought their best beer, combining them with authentic local delicacies to give consumers a gourmet experience.
Paying less than 40 U.S. dollars for one ticket, tourists are able to enjoy 300 types of craft beer at the Wall of Beer. This year's Qingdao International Beer Festival has introduced more than 2,000 types of beer from over 40 countries and regions, allowing attendees to enjoy different flavors from around the world.
At the pavilion of Qingdao beer, accompanied by the dynamic music, tourists drink with their friends and dance freely to the music. Besides the good atmosphere and good beer, the festival also offers tourists a visual feast that integrates Qingdao's beer culture into visual art.
