Traditional Chinese culture captivates visitors at Osaka Expo 2025/5/6 source: International Daily Print

An art exhibition celebrating traditional Chinese tea culture, Zen meditation, and classical poetry has gained significant attention at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan.
The event highlights the rich cultural heritage of Fuzhou City in east China's Jiangxi Province, showcasing its deep contributions to Chinese civilization.
Visitors were immersed in a vibrant display of Zen-inspired aesthetics, poetry by renowned Northern Song Dynasty (960–1127) poet Wang Anshi, intangible cultural heritage crafts, and colorful farmers' paintings.
Interactive experiences, such as calligraphy of classical Chinese poems, allowed guests to engage directly with traditional Chinese artistic practices.
Oyabu Jiro, executive director of the Japan-China Friendship Association, praised the event for its role in strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.
"This event opens the door to deeper cultural exchange between our two countries. The roots of flower arrangement, tea ceremonies, and ceramic culture originate in China. Although these traditions have evolved in Japan, we should continue to engage in exchange and learn from China," said Jiro in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV).
Liu Hongyou, chairman of the Japan-China Cultural Exchange Promotion Association, highlighted Fuzhou's rich cultural legacy.
"Fuzhou is known as China's 'land of talents', a place where scholars and literary figures have gathered for generations. This is a source of pride for Fuzhou's culture and for Chinese culture as a whole," Liu noted.
Another exhibition showcasing Fuzhou's vibrant culture and picturesque landscapes is taking place from April 16 to 25 at the Osaka Expo's outdoor exhibition area.
The event features a diverse array of cultural highlights, including oil paintings by artists from Lichuan County and traditional woodblock prints from Jinxi County, offering international visitors a unique window into the artistic vitality of the region.
Osaka Expo 2025 runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025, with the China Pavilion standing out as one of the largest foreign self-built pavilions at the event.
