International Motor Show 2023 opens in Munich, Germany 2023/9/8 source: International Daily Print

The IAA MOBILITY 2023, one of the world's largest mobility trade fairs, opened in the southern German city of Munich on Tuesday.

Global leading firms for micro-mobility, bicycles, cars, suppliers, and technologies are presenting their latest automotive technologies and smart mobility solutions at the six-day event in the Munich Exhibition Center, attracting almost 750 exhibitors from 38 countries. Among them, about half of the exhibitors are from international companies, which is a 17-percent increase over the previous edition.
Some 70 Chinese firms are taking part, the second largest group of participants after the German companies. Under the motto of "Experience Connected Mobility" of this year's IAA, Chinese carmakers, auto parts suppliers, and technology solution providers are rolling out more chances and choices for global industrial and supply chain partners and customers, both upstream and downstream.
"The German auto industry has firmly rooted itself in China. In recent years, we have keenly observed the strong development and innovative vitality of the Chinese auto industry. So we are pleased that not only German companies are active in China, but Chinese automobiles can also frequently be seen on German and even European roads," said Jürgen Mindel, managing director of German Association of the Automotive Industry.
Over the past few decades, cooperation between China and Germany in the automotive sector has resulted in complementary advantages in technology, market, and supply chain. The number and scale of Chinese carmakers and supply chain technology companies participating in the ongoing auto show reach all-time highs.
The IAA MOBILITY, formerly known as the Frankfurt Auto Show, is held every two years and is widely regarded as a barometer of the automotive industry.
