The 25th Harbin Ice and Snow World officially opened to the public at 11:00 on Monday in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
The Harbin Ice and Snow World is one of the world's leading theme parks featuring large-scale ice and snow sculptures.
As Harbin will be the host city of the 2025 Asian Winter Games, this year's Ice and Snow World combines winter sports with the regional culture and ice and snow culture of Heilongjiang to create an ice wonderland for tourists from all over the world.
Covering an area of 810,000 square meters, the park features over 2,000 ice and snow sculptures, marking the largest scale in its history.
The 120-meter-high sky wheel in the park is one of the highlights, from which visitors can overlook the entire ice and snow world.
The organizers have upgraded the super ice slide in the park, adding six new ones to the existing eight ones, with the longest one stretching for 521 meters.
This year's Ice and Snow World provides a more diversified experience to visitors, where they can not only appreciate the finely designed ice and snow sculptures and enjoy ice and snow entertainment activities, but also indulge in unique culinary delights and witness world-class ice and snow performances.
The park had a one-day trial operation on Sunday.
The Harbin Ice and Snow World came into being in 1999, with various activities held in the park every winter for several months.
Ice and snow events have become a driving force for tourism in Harbin, which is known as "the Oriental Moscow" for its Russian-style buildings such as St. Sophia Cathedral.
