Adorable panda cub snuggles up to temporary mom 2024/3/22 source: International Daily Print

In a delightful video released in early March, the adorable panda cub Dou Ban can be seen snuggled up to her temporary mom Xi Dou, happily nursing and enjoying her milk at the Dujiangyan Base of China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Dou Ban, born in 2020 at the center, has a mother named Bao Bao, who was born in the United States. In cases of limited milk supply, the breeding team sometimes transfers panda cubs to other panda mothers who gave birth around the same time.
The footage was captured on the "iPanda" multimedia platform, which provides round-the-clock live broadcasts of the daily life and activities of giant pandas in the nature reserves of southwest China.
The "iPanda" channel is supported by CCRCGP, a world leading institution for the breeding and conservation of one of China's national treasures. The center has also established a global platform for promoting international cooperation and exchanges involving 18 zoos from 16 countries and regions, as well as 39 domestic animal breeding institutions and more than 10 scientific research institutes.
The Dujiangyan Panda Base covers an area of about 51 hectares (126 acres), and enjoys a favorable climate and natural environment with vast bamboo forest coverage and lovely scenic surroundings. It includes a panda hospital, a medical lab, 10 sets of monitoring enclosures, 30 sets of enclosures, a panda kitchen, an educational center and staff housing.
