An airport in Shenzhen City of south China's Guangdong Province has opened China's first-ever pet lounge recently, offering convenience to both passengers and their furry friends.

The lounge is located in the domestic cargo area of Shenzhen Baoan International Airport. Separate areas are provided for dogs and cats, with each pet having an exclusive waiting area equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system.
Meanwhile, on-site services including pet ticket booking, pet vehicle service and quarantine certification are provided. The pet-carrying passengers can also track their pets online.
"We have comprehensively upgraded the software and hardware services of pet transportation, and created a special security check-in and boarding channel for pets. Dedicated care and regular inspections are offered. Pets stranded due to flight delays can be provided with free foster care services," said Zhou Jie, general manager of Shenzhen Airport Domestic Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd.
