China has witnessed a significant surge in popularity for ice and snow-related activities during the Spring Festival holiday, which runs from Jan 28 to Feb 4 this year.

With the growing interest in winter sports, the Yunding Ski Resort in southwest China's Guiyang City has seen a surge in visitors, including both experienced skiers and beginners, during the holiday period.
At the beginner's slope, inexperienced snowboarders and skiers are trying to master the basics, often stumbling and struggling to stay upright as they try to navigate the terrain.
"This is the first time I tried snowboarding and I fell really badly. A little bit. I can keep my balance now," said one of the tourists.
As the excitement builds ahead of the Asian Winter Games, scheduled for February 7 to 14, skiing resorts in northeast China are enjoying a boost in popularity, with visitors flocking to the region to experience the thrill of skiing during the eight-day holiday.
The Songhua Lake Ski Resort in Jilin City has experienced a significant influx of visitors, many of whom have come to enjoy the exhilaration and joy provided by winter sports activities.
The resort boasts an impressive 50 ski trails catering to skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts. To enhance the skiing experience for tourists during the Spring Festival holiday, it extended operating hours of its cable cars, with all six ropeways now in operation, capable of transporting 22,000 people per hour.
The ski resort experienced a remarkable 40 percent increase in visitor numbers from January 28 to February 1, with a total of 66,000 people visiting the resort, a new high for the period.
In Zibo City, Shandong Province, an ice-and-snow theme park has become a popular destination, attracting large crowds of visitors who come to enjoy its ice slides and other winter attractions.
"We can enjoy such a fun ice-and-snow theme park right at our doorstep and The children love it so much," said a resident.
