Shanghai airports see 50-percent rise in foreign entries 2025/3/28 source: International Daily Print

Airports in Shanghai handled more than 930,000 entries by foreign travelers this year as of Tuesday, a year-on-year increase of 50 percent, according to the Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection.

Of the total, 480,000 international travelers entered Shanghai's airport border crossings without a visa, up 3.5 times over the same period last year.
The immigration inspection authority has streamlined the clearance process by enabling foreign travelers to fill in the form online on the plane for entry cards, reducing the clearance time and ensuring more convenient and smooth travel experiences.
Thanks to favorable policies and measures like visa exemption, travel to China has regained popularity among international tourists in the last couple of years.
