GENEVA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The International University Sports Federation (FISU) is to hold an Executive Committee election in November, FISU announced on Wednesday.

The decision for EC election came after Wednesday's FISU Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) failed to approve the proposal to extend the mandate of the Executive Committee until 2025.

Forty one of 81 FISU member associations voted for the proposal which didn't meet the requirement of two-thirds majority to pass. As a consequence, FISU will hold elections for the positions of the FISU Executive Committee in November 2023.
