WINDHOEK, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's men's senior football team, also known as the "Brave Warriors," has been placed in Group B for the 2025 edition of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup, scheduled to take place in Mangaung, South Africa, from June 4 to 15.

The draw, officially announced on Wednesday, will see Namibia lock horns with Angola, Malawi, and Lesotho in the group stages.

In response to the draw announcement, Brave Warriors head coach Collin Benjamin shared his initial thoughts.

"Firstly, I am happy that we are in a group of four teams, this means more matches, which is a good platform to enhance the experience of our young team. We played in the finals twice in the last three years, so we have to fancy our chances," he said.

Addressing lessons learned from previous tournaments and potential changes in strategy, Benjamin emphasized continuous improvement rather than a drastic shift.

"Not necessarily do differently but just work harder and be smarter tactically," he said.

This year's tournament will feature the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalist Morocco, who will make its debut in the competition. It will join Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Eswatini, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe in the 14-team regional competition.

Benjamin confirmed that he would release his squad on Thursday.
