WASHINGTON, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The United States will meet Ecuador and Australia in October friendlies as part of preparations for next year's FIFA World Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation said on Monday.
Mauricio Pochettino's side will face Ecuador in Austin, Texas, on October 10 and Australia in Commerce City, Colorado, four days later.
The matches will follow September friendlies against South Korea and Japan.
The U.S., currently 15th in the FIFA world rankings, has qualified automatically for the 2026 World Cup as a cohost with Mexico and Canada.
Earlier this month, the team lost 2-1 to Mexico in the final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
